Dear Al:
Well, all I can say is WOW! I went to the WTF training
camp this past weekend at Cynthia Hill and Steve
Teran's house and out of all the training experiences
I've had in my life, this was the best. I found myself
at one point in the day just standing there looking
around at the people and smiling, I felt so blessed.
The training on the obstacles was efficient,
technically perfect and extremely supportive. That
included everything from warm ups to cool downs. It
was a pretty difficult day for me as my hip was
bothering me, my limp worse than usual, and my diet
had been all screwed up. Cynthia and her crew
respected this and did not once make me feel less
than, were concerned, but never nervous. Their choice
of crew was phenomenal--every single person was
helpful, knew their stuff and promoted confidence. The
choice of Lucious Smith as the sprint trainer was
genius--he is one of the best I've seen.
Al, I have spent 20 years as a fitness journalist and
seen probably every sort of training there is, and I
have never come across a program that was so
technically smart, biomechanically smart,
nutritionally smart, supportive and fun, fun, fun.
Though I don't like to compare, I have to say that
this TriFitness training camp was light years beyond
the Galaxy Training camp--there was just zero, I mean
zero comparison in either professionalism or
knowledge-base and knowledge transfer. I immediately
went home and emailed my editor at Self to tell her my
experience and suggested that she make the story I
wrote for them longer and add in some of this. As I
drove home, sweaty and gritty from eating alot of sand
(I found out diving head first off the wall was not a
good way to eat lunch), I had a big goofy smile. What
Cynthia and her crew gave me was something no other
coach ever has--the feeling that indeed I could
accomplish anything. I finally felt like I'd found a
home where I could find my place as an athlete. Funny
that this waited to happen until I was 46! Well, I
suppose if Moses lived to 125, I can compete at this
age.
I can't thank you enough for heading me in their
direction. I'll do anything I can to promote your
sport. TriFitness is the real deal.
All my best, Abbie Woods
